Darkness within the Souls

Pikachu apparently succeeded in its negotiations with the Torchic as the exhausted pokemon relaxed considerably. Matt then hesitantly went to work on the injured girl using his med kit. Her breathing was shallow and the gashes ripped across her fragile body were still fresh, but he managed to patch the cuts and soothe her pain using a potion. The Torchic remained in her arms the entire time, eyeing Matt as if daring him to make some aggressive move, but eventually the little pokemon saw that the helpful man only had good intentions and it closed its eyes to rest with its unconscious master. Matt wiped sweat from his brow and breathed a sigh of relief as he was able to improve the girl's condition, and then he sweeped her up into his arms. "Pikachu... do me a favor and call out Blaziken, would you buddy?"

The rodent pokemon nodded and snatched the pokeball housing Blaziken before unleashing it into the world in a red beam of light. Blaziken appeared with a big smile while flexing its arms, ready for any trial that awaited it. "Thanks Pikachu," Matt smiled and then turned to the firey pokemon who regarded him with a tilted head. "Blaziken, could you clear a path through this debris please? And Pikachu, could you guide us back to the unit with your sense of smell? We need to get these two to a real doctor right away."

His pokemon nodded immediately, and Blaziken went to work on the fallen wall blocking their way. He unleashed a series of fire-charged punches and kicks that reduced the debris in moments, and then Pikachu dashed through the cracks to get a better scent of the VSC. Matt looked down at the small girl in his arms and frowned. I can't watch another person die. We'll save you. We'll save you and all the other people of this world... Pikachu let out a loud "pika!" to attract his attention to a path leading outside and he stepped through the shattered debris with Blaziken by his side.

As he neared the town he noticed something peculiar about the world….it was demolished. Everything around him had some sort of damage to it whether minuscule or on a grander scale. It was a sickening and sad sight to see, all the people that used to inhabit this town had obviously gone away. His heart sank as he glanced back to the creature still held in his arms. If he didn't do something soon this creature was going to die….
He ran as fast as he could tank him around the town pillaging for things that could be of use to mend its wounds but it was to no avail. He came upon a small house that looked as if a tornado had been through it and walked in through what was left of the entrance catching his leg on a piece of rubble left on the front step and causing a huge crash to the ground. One of the other balls on his belt fell off from the impact and opened. A flash of blinding light came out and slowly faded revealing another peculiar looking almost humanoid creature.
“Aaa…braaa…..” It spoke with a soft hum in recognition of Herms.

“Do..you know me too?” Herms asked in a soft whisper still in disbelief of what was going on. The humanoid creature nodded silently and walked over to Herms slowly. He touched what looked like an armored finger to his shoulder and one to the bulb of the injured creature. With a slow nod the scenery began to change. Everything was blurring and going white, Herms began to panic. He looked around frantically trying to get his surroundings, but all he noticed was that he and the two creatures were still in the same position unmoved by anything. Within another few seconds they were back on the beach from which they had landed initially.

He stood up and looked around spotting a girl on the beach. “A person!” he thought to himself, “Perhaps she could help me out ….” He ran towards her slowing when he got closer taking precaution. She turned and looked at him with a startled surprise and a pleasant smile. The first thing Herms noticed was a floating red ball in the middle of her chest cavity giving off a lighyellowew you in with warmth. Instantly he recognized that red glow.
“Mica?!” Herms exclaimed in a relieved yet panic expression. Mica acknowledged Herms but they had no time to rejoice. Mica quickly grabbed a small bottle out of her pack and poured it over the bulb creature’s wound. The blood faded and the epithelial tissues began rapid regeneration.
“Amazing….” Herms said in awe.
Mica quickly filled him in about what she knew of this world and showed him what she called her Pokedex. Herms finally realized there was a weight in his jean pocket that hadn’t been there before. He probably over looked it in the confusion and panic of everything that had happened.
“So you guys are Pokemon huh…” He said at the bulb and humanoid creatures. He opened his pokedex and pointed it at them. A robotic voice came out of the machine “Bulbasaur, the bulb like creature, it uses its bulb to absorb light energy shooting powerful blasts. Abra the psyhic pokemon, its main attack is teleport.”
“And this is Dratini!” Mica exclaimed showing Herms her blue snake.
