Death, lies and revenge

"You can look away now, son. No child should have to be put through this..." He placed a hand on the young man's shoulder, and nodded at the mortician standing by. The older man got the message and slowly covered the body back up.

The young man shook his head while gazing down at the floor, "No Jack, I had to see that. I had to see both of them. I had to see with my own eyes what those monsters did to my family..." He clenched a fist in anger, his mournful expression taking on one filled with terrifying rage.

"And why's that? You aren't planning anything stupid, are you?" Jack took a hard look at the boy, and was shocked to find a smile under that mane of black hair. "Of course not, Police Commissioner. Now would you kindly refrain from calling the house? I'll tell him myself, thanks." Jack made direct eye contact with the young man and was horrified at the malicious emerald gleam staring back into his own hazel orbs. "Yeah... don't worry, I-I won't..."

The young man nodded once and then brushed past him, pocketing his gloved hands after exiting the mortuary.

I needed to see that because those bastards are going to pay, and I won't let anyone stand in the way of that. Not even you, Jack. Not even your entire police force will keep me from claiming vengeance.

He was surrounded by media after he left the building, and just smiled at the cameras despite his inner thoughts. He would deal with this, and then he would deal with them.
